A Big Announcement! Plus teasers...
Something to make next week's launch even more exciting
A summary for you on what to expect in this edition in case you want to scroll down to the interesting bits: early release bonuses announcement; teasers for the upcoming Don’t Move Your Desk serial; future bonus post teasers; and the progress report with an update on my week-on-week sales and writing progress.
Hi all! It’s only one week to go until we launch the serialised novel, Don’t Move Your Desk…
And I have something even more exciting to tell you right now.
Here it is:
For every five new paid subscribers I gain during the run of the serial, I will release a chapter early.
I am serious!
As soon as we hit the milestone of the fifth person, I’ll hit the publish button on my next queued post and move all the others up in the order.
I have written more chapters than I have scheduled in time for, so this ensures we’ll actually be able to fit them all in - including the not one, not two, but THREE bonus epilogue scenes I have ready to go at the end.
Plus, if your feedback as we go ahead tells me that you want to have other types of post between chapter releases, then I also have a whole bunch of ideas for bonus posts I can put together. I’ll even do some votes at some points so you get to decide how this all goes.
So, does this apply even to chapter one…?
I might need my head examined for saying this, but - yes! If I get five paid subscribers, I’ll go ahead and publish chapter one before next Friday. If we hit some cool milestones with free subscribers, I might just release some chapters early too - I’m thinking like maybe 50, 75, 100, and so on.
And, yes. This applies if you subscribe for one month, unsubscribe, and then a few months later, resubscribe. I’m not going to police it because I don’t have that much time on my hands. But I hope you’ll want to stick around anyway - and remember, legacy members get ebooks for free, which will include the ebook version of this serial once I release it for general sale later on and lock everything behind the paywall.
Next up, some teasers for the serial! I was thinking of the best way to do this, and it hit me: trigger warnings.
So, without further ado, here are some trigger warnings that will tell you EXACTLY what to expect from the upcoming serial:
Explicit gay sex
A slow burn that will drive you up the wall
Bad language
Inappropriate workplace relationship
Possessive behavior
A drugged drink
A fistfight
A betrayal and a hidden agenda
A treacherous fiance
… and a man who is SO STOIC you will want to HIT HIM IN THE FACE to make him talk
All that and more is coming from the 6th of April!!
And finally, I did also promise you I would share some teasers for the bonus posts I have in mind.
Now, this is not a comprehensive list and it’s also not a list of promises. First of all, we might never get enough subscribers to do bonus posts, in which case these won’t be used - although I probably will fit some of them into my schedule for 2025 (I’ve already mostly figured out what I’m doing for the rest of this year). Secondly, I might just… change my mind. Or start writing a post and realise it’s boring or not what I expected to write. Anyway, like I said, I will probably be putting up a bunch of votes to let you all choose what I put out, so let me know in the comments if any of these posts seem like something you would really look forward to reading:
Playlist for the serial with songs for each character
Some of my best or funniest book reviews that I’ve received
Deep dive comparison figures across series and across years, eg comparing Jan 2023 with Jan 2024 or the first month of Bloodless with the first month of Don’t Move Out, looking at what moved the needle
My records system: how I get all those figures together to share in my end of year posts
Reviews of gay romance books by other authors I’ve read recently/my top all-time favourites
My notebooks: daily planner and how I use it, how I use a notebook page to build basic plot ideas and then expand on them, bullet journalling and my collage art pages
Deeper dive on how I’m doing with my 2024 goals, probably around June/July
Deeper dive on specific ads that I’ve run and what statistics I have from them
Let me know if any of these catch your fancy - and tell your friends to subscribe so we have a better chance of seeing them!

Don’t Move Your Desk - theme chosen (sexy CEO/secretary!), title chosen, cover designed, full plot done, 50k words into writing - another low writing week. Now the issue of London Runway is out and published, I’m dividing my time between this and hiring for a position that just opened up there. I wish I had gotten my wordcount done when I had it scheduled in the first place, because go figure, it’s harder to fit writing in when you have other stuff already in your schedule 😬 But there’s just 10k to go to my target, plus whatever extra is needed to actually finish off the extra chapters I added, then I’ll be into editing. I’m going to get to the editing phase this week. I am!! I promise!
(Books 6+): 10 covers, themes, and titles done, Kitchen selected to be first, release schedule announced, some prep started
Subscribers: free - 35, paid - 0
By the way, please like this post if you enjoyed it and would like to see more! This helps me decide what to do for future content.
